School Trips

Planned        v        Relevant      v        Safe

The learning experience for pupils does not end for pupils at New Eccles Hall at the school gate. The school actively encourages school visits and trips and supports staff in organising them.   Careful  planning with risk assessments ensures that pupils are able to make these excursions safely  and confidently.   Extending the learning experience outside the classroom on field work visits brings the subjects they are learning to life.

In addition to day visits to places of interest,  the theatre and  museums, the school has the use of an activity centre in the Auvergne region of France.  Pupils in Years 6, 8 and 10  visit the centre to  enjoy visits to places of interest and take part in programmes linked to the curriculum at school.     For some pupils, going away on a school trip is the first time they have been away from home. The staff  are sensitive to this. However, it is a wonderful opportunity to broaden horizons and enhance the learning experience.

Other trips out of school include the annual History Society visit to Europe,  geography field visits, music tours and  skiing expeditions.
