Our Department has:

• A wide variety of materials for drawing, painting, printing, collage and 3 dimensional construction

• A ceramics room with dedicated pottery teacher and kiln

• Digital cameras, image manipulation programmes and laser colour printer

• A library of art books, CDs and DVDs

Every child in the school does art from year 4 until they choose their options for year 10, when they can follow the Edexcel Art and Design suite of courses. Art provides a stimulating and lively environment where students follow an interesting and varied syllabus. They will look at art from our own and other cultures, and study a different theme each term with the emphasis on a personal response.

The department runs several in-school competitions, including photography, and contributes to the annual Independent Schools’ Art exhibition.  We also enter national competitions and in 2007 the school won The Doodle Day competition.
