International students attending The New Eccles Hall will benefit from a specialist course of study which will enhance their language skills and facilitate entry into further courses in the future.

Students staying for long term study will work to the Cambridge ESOL suite of examinations, starting at an appropriate level to encompass prior learning and will move to the next levels as and when appropriate.

• Key English Test (KET)

• Preliminary English Test (PET)

• First Certificate in English (FCE)

• Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)

• IELTS will also be offered to facilitate future entrance to higher education.

In addition to the above, those EAL students staying for a minimum of 1 year will be able to choose from the following subjects up to a maximum of 5.

• Maths GCSE/AS LEVEL

• Statistics GCSE

• Geography GCSE

• Citizenship

• Art and Design

• ICT Clait/Clait Plus

Assessment for the above courses will take place as and when each student is ready, making the course very individualized. All assessments are taken through a recognized centre and are externally marked.

In addition to the above courses we will also offer short term integration packages of varying lengths of time. These students will be fully integrated into the life of the school and will receive EAL tuition during their stay.
