ISA Nationals Swimming 2011

Great day at the RACES!!

Eccles Hall School had fabulous success at this year's ISA National Event held in Coventry Olympic Pool on Saturday 19th November. While the school enjoyed a lie in, Katie Nesbitt, Stephen Clarke and Yat Ying travelled to Coventry to represent the Eastern Regional at a National Swim Gala. All three exceeded school expectation and swam amazingly well and some swimmers even surprised themselves with their efforts.

Stephen Clarke achieved 5th place in the backstroke.

Yat Ying came 1st in the Backstroke and third in the Butterfly

Katie Nesbitt came 4th in the freestyle.

A very long day, but very proud of the swimmers. Many thanks to Mrs Brown and Mrs Nesbitt, who looked after the nutritional needs of the team, and Charlie and Morgan who travelled as team mascots.

Eccles Hall School is very proud of your achievements.

Under 15s Rugby

On Tuesday 15th November, Eccles Hall hosted Finborough School in the return leg of the rugby season. Two evenly matched sides started the game in a beautiful afternoon. The crowds drew in from all around to watch these two teams battle it out. The sides camped out in either half until Eccles scored a break away try through some poor defence. Eccles 5 - 0. The attack continued through the first half with Eccles going into half time 15-0 up. The second half started well for Finborough who camped in our twenty two for 15mins, until finally our defence was breached and they scored a good try. However it was Eccles who had the last word and scored a break away try through Vlad, who made his debut for the school team.

Well down to all who played, great game, great spirit and great result.

Shooting Success

It was a glorious afternoon on Wednesday  as we hosted our opening shooting fixture against Dave Bowden’s invitation side. Having had a long break for summer, we started off very well, shooting more clay from the off.

Stephen Clark was our best shot on the day, getting 16/20, and then Carter scored 13/20. George shot 13/20, Jordan 11/20, Hugo 8/20 and Robert scored 13/20. Elliot, a shooting debutant, shot 9/20 and old hand Robert Jepson racked up 12/20.

All in all, a great day's shooting and to come out on top was even more pleasing. The shooting team opened their account with a victory against Dave Bowden’s Invite Select.

Under 16’s Hockey v TGS – Home

The girls started the season off on a positive note today, with a very successful fixture against TGS. The girls worked well as a team but unfortunately were unlucky to concede four quick goals during the end of the second half.

This was the first time the team have played together, so plenty to work with and take from the game. Captained by Corissa Hunter, the senior players in Paige Taylor and Emily Nesbitt led from the front.
