Extensive         v    Stimulating       v     Rewarding

At New Eccles Hall we like to think we are more than just a school.  Life at school is not just about academic  lessons, which are to be expected, but it is also concerned with the clubs and activities that pupils can engage in during the course of the week.   There is an extensive club programme and all pupils are expected to belong to at least one after school club; there is the freedom to join more.   They are able to change clubs at the start of each term.  The range of clubs varies from year to year with the changing interests of pupils and the staff who lead them.

Swimming Personal Survival,   Target Shooting,  Archery,  Golf,  Pottery,  Basketball, Art, Calligraphy, Fitness and Dance, Table Tennis, High Ropes Course, Drama, Craft, Gardening,  American Football,  Choir,  Rugby, Board Games and Chess, Textiles, Army Training Corp, Fire Service, Recycling, Community Care.

At Key Stage 4 pupils are able to focus on  their  extra curricular and sporting  activities through participation in The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme  of which the school is a very keen supporter.   Year 10 pupils are encouraged to take part  in the Bronze Award and in Year 11 the option of continuing  with the Silver Award is an option.    The Award scheme involves commitment in community service, skills, physical recreation and expeditions.     The Award Scheme is externally recognised and records  the personal achievements of pupils outside the classroom in self reliance, interests, teamwork and leadership.
